When you’re feeling worried, anxious, overwhelmed, in panic, avoidant, or unable to get out of bed to face the day, your body gets into a state designed to keep you down and small …. your breathing gets shallow, and your muscles hold tension. It’s hard to recognise if it is your body or your emotions that are in battle. It’s circular and it can take a long time to settle without consciously applying techniques to soothe and restore inner peace.

Breathwork is scientifically proven to be a fast and effective way to ease anxiety. It lowers carbon dioxide in your blood, increases oxygen, and releases the automatic response and anxiety loop.

Combining breathing techniques with a secondary focus enables you to disrupt the anxiety loop, let go, and shift into ease. Your mind can only keep a few conscious thoughts at the forefront, and that’s why so many healing modalities focus on the breath and one or two other aspects of thought or action.

This workbook is full of healthy coping mechanisms and strategies to start facing your anxiety instead of avoiding it. This is not your basic "Go meditate, jog, and start eating healthy" - advice (although it does touch on those things - why they're hard to do when you're anxious and how to try to do them anyway). It does include a lot of DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) and a mix of a lot of different approaches. There's something for everyone.

The point of this anxiety workbook is to help you to discover healthy coping mechanisms that work for YOU.
